Project IMPLEMENT 4.0

Integrated Management of Pesticides and Liable Exposure with Machinery Executing Needed Treatments 4.0

Web page: 4.0.implement.farm

Small-scale farming continues to dominate the European rural economy, with 86% of EU farms owning an area of less than 20ha (CEMA, November 2017). Advanced farm machinery solutions can help farm owners, regardless of size, to operate profitably, competitively and sustainably. In particular, Precision Agriculture (PA) technologies have great potential for farmers as the definition of boundaries based on the use of innovative technologies, such as Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and in order to rationally make decisions and plan farm work in a balanced way between competitiveness and sustainability. This concept has simply been broadly explained as “applying the right treatment in the right place at the right time”.

The project aims to improve the awareness and skills of farmers, students and other stakeholders on the Agricultural Knowledge Innovation System (AKIS) with digital knowledge focused on smart agriculture, oriented to a Vocational Training (VET) that promotes sustainable development in rural areas, strengthening the professional handling of digital data and the implementation of sprayers to generate sustainable agriculture and deliver added value.

The project also aims to create a complete e-learning system based on digital agriculture linked to the use and planning of spraying machinery, targeting farmers, agricultural advisory services, higher education and agricultural vocational schools, agricultural machinery manufacturers, vocational education and training (VET) professionals, policy and decision makers and experts in the agricultural sector.

The IMPLEMENT 4.0 project is funded by the Erasmus+ program under Grant Agreement 2019-1-TR01-KA202-075412.
