Project MILKED

Modern and Innovative onLine-based Know-how on European Dairy processing

Web page: milk-ed.eu

In recent years, we have seen an increased demand for expertise in the field of milk production in the countries of the project consortium. This demand has largely come from farmers and their family members who want to process dairy products on their farm. The interest in dairy processing stems from the fall in milk prices, which has been observed for more than a decade. The decline has been such that many farms (especially smaller ones) find it difficult to cover production costs, and there is a solution to keep these farms – adding value to their crops – in this case by processing milk into dairy products. The designers of the Common Agricultural Policy also see the solution for farmers primarily in adding value to their products.

The MILK-ed project has the following goals:

  • Provide PARTICIPANTS with free access to milk processing courses tailored to their needs, which can be recognized in both formal and non-formal education.
  • To enable EXPERTS (teachers and mentors) to exchange knowledge and skills in the field of milk processing.
  • ENCOURAGE DIGITALIZATION in partner organizations.
  • Promote RURAL DEVELOPMENT and the maintenance of farms through milk production through conversion to processing and other complementary activities on the farm

The MILKED project is funded by the Erasmus+ program under Grant Agreement 2019-1-SI01-KA202-060553.
